Caledonia is Home to Grocery and Food Service Distribution Centres
Some of the largest buildings in the Caledonia Industrial Estates in the north end of Moncton next to the Trans Canada Highway, have a very large job to handle every day.
Much of the fresh food and produce and the staples of the Shopper Drug Marts in Atlantic Canada move through complex staging areas in massive refrigerated boxes in the Industrial Park.
The new SERCA Atlantic Food Division is delivering fresh, frozen and dry products to the Sobeys stores and to their restaurants and institutional customers. Moving to incorporate new technology into their operations the SERCA Atlantic group is introducing on-line ordering through their SERCAnet on-line ordering system. This system links the customer directly to the distribution centre to enhance customer service.
Atlantic Wholesalers is keeping up with the demand for product as the store division operating in SuperStores and mega centres for groceries, racks up increasing consumer sales accounting for the largest market share for grocery sales in the region. A complex facility moves product over the docks and onto store shelves around the clock.
On a 24 over 7 day a week basis the big names in food service and drug supplies keep the Caledonia Estates humming with activity being the giant supply cupboard for Atlantic Canada.
