Moncton Paces Eastern Canadian Communities in Growth, Among Moncton’s 2007 Economic Performance Highlights
The City of Moncton has established a comfortable national brand as a consistently expanding economic growth centre on Canada’s east coast.
Looking back on Moncton’s 2007 economic performance numbers and achievements, illustrates why Moncton has developed this national “growth brand”. This achievement became more evident as the City of Moncton closed off another consecutive year of significant tax base expansion and overall strong economic performance throughout every industry and market sector of the City.
Early in the year, the first results from the 2006 census set the tone for the confident mood for this growing city of 126,000 plus, as it officially became NB’s largest urban area (as one of Canada’s newest Census Metropolitan Area designations).
January 2007 published news reports highlighted an analysis of the 2006 census data by Canadian Demographics 2007 - the Financial Post's 80th annual demographics guide to almost all market areas in the country, which suggested that the City of Moncton was on the rise over other metro areas in New Brunswick. complete article >>

Sometimes you’re up, sometimes you’re down. That is never more true than when it comes to rankings. Canadian Business Magazine has issued its annual rankings of the best Canadian cities for business. In the past Moncton has been ranked as high as #1 but for the past couple of years it had slipped out of the top ten. Of course, from our vantage point we never did slip as we always consider Moncton a great place for business.

New Molson Brewery Lights Up and Rocks Moncton!
It’s been 52 years in the making but now Molson’s have officially opened their new Moncton brewery. Well it didn’t take 52 years to actually build the brewery but it has been 52 years since Canadian brewing icon Molson opened its last new brewery.
Moncton, NB situated at the geographic centre of Canada’s Maritime Provinces, is an ideal business location for serving this region and Molson is taking full advantage of that location. It also makes sense for potential new opportunities to use the plant’s production capacity for export to the New England market but that’s something for the company to decide somewhere down the road. complete article >>
Caledonia Industrial Estates – Making more room for new neighbours!
Build it and they will come? Not necessarily, but if you aren’t ready to seize the opportunities, they will pass you by. When it comes to industrial parks that means having sites ready to capture the opportunities when they arise. That's why Moncton Industrial Development (MID) builds it - so they can come.
Building it meant a major $15 million investment in the infrastructure of Caledonia Industrial Estates in 1993/95. That investment involved building new streets and services within the industrial park along with a new interchange access onto the Trans Canada Highway. The result added some 230 acres to the available inventory of lots.

Ballet Literally, Kicking It Up A Notch in Moncton.

Spawning an internationally recognized professional ballet troupe from Moncton is not the first thing that would come to mind, but as 2006 came to an end, a leading building developer announced that the principal anchor tenant of the renovated and modernized former YMCA building at 68 Highfield Street, would be one of Moncton's quietest and most surprising success growth stories, the Atlantic Ballet Theater of Canada.
In 2007, the Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada will be the anchor tenant in a 26,000 square foot three story mixed used building in Moncton’s downtown, that once housed the YMCA, which has now moved into a modern new building. complete article >>
