Moncton Industrial Parks Association

The Moncton Industrial Parks Association was launched in early 1986.Developed specifically for the businesses of Caledonia Industrial Estates and Moncton Industrial Park, the association works closely with Moncton Industrial Development on issues related to the parks.Over the years this partnership has worked on a variety of items, such as mail service improvements, new Park signs for both parks, street improvements, and traffic lights.

MIPA Scholarships

The association began its scholarship program in 1990, initially awarding two scholarships each year. Today, the association awards four scholarships. These are given to students who have a parent that works for one of the companies that is a member of the association. As a result, to date 66 students have received some financial assistance for their higher education.

Beautification and Green Awards
The association awards annual Beautification Awards which are given in recognition of those companies that do that little extra in landscaping and maintaining the quality of their properties.  In addition, in 2009 the association introduced a new Green Award in recognition of those businesses instituting good environmental practices.

Business Watch
In 1996, the association launched its Business Watch Program. This program was designed by MID and the Parks Association with the assistance of the Moncton Police Force.Based loosely on the well-known Neighbourhood Watch, the Business Watch program has four basic elements:

Security Assessment
In this process, companies make a thorough assessment of their premises to determine their quality of deterrence, locks, windows, loading doors and so on.

Neighbourhood Involvement
Companies are encouraged to let their neighbours know their working hours, and to know their neighbours hours. It is also a good idea to let them know who to call if they see something.

Employee Education
Firms are encouraged to educate their employees on how to respond when they notice something unusual such as call the police or advise a supervisor, do not interfere, be aware.

Recognition Awards

If someone calls in a tip and they let us know, we will recognize their spirit in a low-key manner that respects their privacy but recognizes their important contribution.

This promotes community involvement while actingas an important deterrent.
