Kim Carruthers, President of Maritime Hydraulic, says Caledonia Industrial Estates is well suited to his company’s growing needs.
“As a heavy equipment manufacturer, it is convenient for us to be here. It is especially handy for the freight component. We have direct rail access at the back of our facility.”
A total of 80 of the firm’s total 125 employees work at the local facility that started with a shop in Memramcook more than 40 years ago and then moved to 270 MacNaughton Avenue (Repair Division) and ultimately built another even more spacious facility at 355 MacNaughton (HFM Division) as their organization grew.
Maritime Hydraulic is a professional design, manufacturing, research, development, service, and testing company specializing in supplying custom hydraulic/mechanical components and systems to a variety of heavy industries around the world.

The Moncton HFM and Repair Divisions are concerned primarily with manufacturing to support the needs of these industries and service work such as repairs to hydraulic systems and equipment. Carruthers said the firm has expanded again and is currently working in the Malaysia area and South China Sea on a $4 million refurbishment project for Murphy Oil, through a newly opened facility in Labuan, Malaysia. It is just one example of how the company collaborates on complex multifaceted projects in a variety of major industries to provide hydraulic and mechanical solutions for clients.
A big part of the company’s success, according to Carruthers, is its unparalleled customer support.
